Daedalian's Induction Ceremony

Thunderbirds team at induction ceremony. John congaradulates Maj. Rusty Keen #2

The Holder family; John, Kathy, Chelsea, and Glen were the guest of Colonel Robert Karre for the Thunderbirds Daedalians induction ceremony. The event was held Friday November 4th and was hosted by the 99th FTS at Randolph AFB, TX.

This was a very special occasion, and the Holder family felt quite privileged to be included in this historic ceremony.

It was a beautiful late afternoon, and the feelings of pride and patriotism flowed abundantly and freely in waves of Red, White, Blue, and GREEN. The family (mostly the kids) was well received by the team as we congratulated them on their induction and yet another honor bestowed. As we engaged them and expressed our pride and awe in the team as a group, and as most impressive individuals, they graciously allowed us to gush and blather at will!! Man its GREAT to be from the USA!!

Major Jeremy Sloane #7 (Operations), arranged for John to present to Major Rusty Keen #2 (Left Wing) a gift package from the OE team and the Holder Family, of an autographed photo of then 1Lt Glen Holder of the 35th FS and a OE team T-shirt. Major Keen was assigned to the 8th FG/ 35th FS ‘Pantons’ flying F-16C Falcons in Korea, so we thought it would be appropriate to present Rusty with this bit of aviation history that has continuity to his military carrier. He was very appreciative of the token, and I believe could understand the pride with which it was presented. History is important because of the perspective and stability of reference that it provides, linear paths if not understood lead nowhere.

We would like to again thank Colonel Karre for hosting us and allowing us to take part in this great afternoon affair.
