OE Attends Grand Opening George H. W. Bush Gallery
National Museum Of The Pacific War

Dec 7th, 2009

John and i set off bright and early this cold wet morning with high hopes to catch the Golden Knight Army Parachute Team land in the Museum courtyard. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, low vis prevented them from jumping. I taked to a couple of them and they of course were equally disappointed. While getting a few shots of the Knights bird we linked up with Richard (Dick) Estenson pilot and owner of the famous Hanger Hotel.
John and I have many fond memories from our stays at the Hanger.

John stops for a Kodak moment while a crowd of 5000+ wait for the cutting of the ribbion. General Hagee was full of humor and excitment as he opened the ceremony.

Perhaps the most inspiring speech came from keynote speaker General Conway. Of cousre everyone was anxious the greet the Mr. and Mrs. George H. W Bush.along with the security team.

I really didn't expect the Red Carpet Treatment but being the stars we are I just couldn't resist the temptation to feel important
All jokes aside, deep down the most important thing that occured this day was the placing of the Dec. 7th Memorial Wreath
