Freda's personal goal is to improve the livelihoods of indigenous Melanesian People. Besides being a master scuba diver, she is fluent in several languages: Solomon tok pijin, PNG tok, pisin and English, Bakovi (Talasea, PNG) and East Guadalcanal (Tasiboko) Solomon Islands.

She holds a Bachelor of Science from Univ of PNG, and is working on her masters degree. She has extensive experience in gathering and data analyses and report writing for the scientific monitoring done in Kimbe Bay and the Bismarck sea region. Managed local Marine Area Social Network coordination team; empowering local marine and coastal community members around Papua New Guinea through workshops and trainings intended for socio-economic and ecological assessments; establishment of a resilient Marine Protected Area Network and worked closely with indigenous coastal communities in Kimbe Bay to improve conservation efforts to alleviate poverty.
In 2007 Employed by The Nature Conservancy as the Conservation Research Assistant to establish Locally Managed Marine Area conducting marine ecological coral reef assessments; verification and identification of reef spawning aggregations within Kimbe Bay. She has been published in many Marine studies conducted in the S. Pacific Area.
